(a) In any civil action to establish parentage or to establish, modify or enforce child support orders in temporary family assistance cases pursuant to sections 17b-745, 46b-86, 46b-215, 46b-231, 46b-560, 46b-569 and 46b-570, the court may allow the state, when it is the prevailing party, a reasonable attorney’s fee.

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.

(b) The provisions of subsection (a) of this section shall not be deemed: (1) To create a new cause of action against any individual; or (2) to confer any new jurisdiction upon the Superior Court in any action against any individual.
