All civil penalties imposed by the stewards/division judge must be paid within 15 days of the ruling unless the ruling is appealed and a stay has been entered pursuant to Fl. Admin. Code R. 75-3.003 The fine must be paid within 15 days of the resolution of the appeal.

- Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.
