  • Amendment: A proposal to alter the text of a pending bill or other measure by striking out some of it, by inserting new language, or both. Before an amendment becomes part of the measure, thelegislature must agree to it.
The delegates to the convention shall meet in such place as shall be provided for that purpose by the Department of State, at the state capitol at Tallahassee on the second Tuesday in the month following their election, at 12 noon. They shall thereupon constitute a convention to ratify or reject the proposed amendment to the Constitution of the United States.
