Terms Used In Florida Statutes 684.003

  • Arbitral tribunal: means a sole arbitrator or panel of arbitrators. See Florida Statutes 684.0003
  • Arbitration: means any arbitration, whether or not administered by a permanent arbitral institution. See Florida Statutes 684.0003
  • Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
Subject to the provisions of this chapter, the parties may agree on the procedure to be followed by the arbitral tribunal in conducting the proceedings. Failing such agreement, the arbitral tribunal may, subject to the provisions of this chapter, conduct the arbitration in such manner as it considers appropriate. The power conferred upon the arbitral tribunal includes the power to determine the admissibility, relevance, materiality, and weight of evidence.
