  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.

CH. 106 BANKS

(a) Foreign banking corporation means a banking corporation organized under the laws of a foreign state; and

(b) Foreign state means any foreign government or any depart- ment, district, province, county, possession or other similar govern- mental organization or subdivision of a foreign government, and any agency or instrumentality of any such foreign government or any such organization or subdivision.
