Terms Used In 15 Guam Code Ann. § 4306

  • Executor: A male person named in a will to carry out the decedent
  • Guardian: A person legally empowered and charged with the duty of taking care of and managing the property of another person who because of age, intellect, or health, is incapable of managing his (her) own affairs.
  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
  • Probate: Proving a will
e termination of the relation of guardian and ward by the death of either guardian or ward or by the ward attaining his majority, or being restored to capacity, shall not cause the court to lose jurisdiction of the proceeding for the purpose of settling the accounts of the guardian. The account of a deceased guardian shall be presented by his executor or administrator.
