Terms Used In 15 Guam Code Ann. § 4801
- Amendment: A proposal to alter the text of a pending bill or other measure by striking out some of it, by inserting new language, or both. Before an amendment becomes part of the measure, thelegislature must agree to it.
- Appellate: About appeals; an appellate court has the power to review the judgement of another lower court or tribunal.
- Guardian: A person legally empowered and charged with the duty of taking care of and managing the property of another person who because of age, intellect, or health, is incapable of managing his (her) own affairs.
- Probate: Proving a will
appeal may be taken to the Supreme Court of Guam from an order granting or revoking letters of guardianship settling an account of a guardian or refusing to make any order heretofore mentioned in this Section.

COMMENT: (1994) Pursuant to an Organic Act amendment in 1984, the Legisla- ture, by P.L. 21-147, established a new, authorized, Supreme Court of Guam. Section 5 of that Act directed that all references to the Appellate Division of the District Court henceforth read the Supreme Court of Guam. Therefore, this section is changed accordingly.
