- Fiscal year: The fiscal year is the accounting period for the government. For the federal government, this begins on October 1 and ends on September 30. The fiscal year is designated by the calendar year in which it ends; for example, fiscal year 2006 begins on October 1, 2005 and ends on September 30, 2006.

submitted as a separate line-item. After Board approval, the Superintendent shall submit the proposed DOE fiscal year budget to I Liheslaturan Guåhan, and a courtesy copy to I Maga’lahen Guåhan, no later than the thirtieth (30th) day of January. The budget shall be in the format of the Budget Call issued by the Bureau of Budget and Management Research and shall describe DOE’ budget requests to federal agencies for federal grant awards by object classification and by grant, including each grant’s staffing pattern, both current and proposed, and such information as may be requested by I Liheslaturan Guåhan.
