SOURCE: GC § 204.1, added P.L. 10-107 (Feb. 6, 1970). Amended by
P.L. 26-157:6 (Dec. 15, 2002).

NOTE: According to the Legislative History found in the attachment to P.L. 15-104, the reference to the Transition Committee was added to conform with former GC § 5010, which was added by P.L. 10-111 and amended by P.L. 12-188. .

COMPILER’S COMMENT: Former Government Code 204.1 was added before the creation of the Transition Committee was created. This Transition Committee is an official government entity. Recent practice has given more and more control over the inauguration to this Committee, rather than to the incumbent Governor. Therefore, this Section has been amended to reflect both recent practice and the creation of the Transition Committee.
