- Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
- Lease: A contract transferring the use of property or occupancy of land, space, structures, or equipment in consideration of a payment (e.g., rent). Source: OCC
For the purpose of this part, if not inconsistent with the context:
“Remodeling” includes reconstruction, renovation, rehabilitation, improvement, betterment, or extension of a special facility.
“Special facility” means one or more buildings, structures, or facilities on land owned by the State for maritime and marine operations, including cargo handling and control; storage, repair, maintenance, and servicing of marine and marine-related equipment; processing and canning of fish and fish products; and offices and accommodations for the personnel and employees of persons engaged in maritime and maritime-related operations that are the subject of a special facility lease.
“Special facility lease” includes a contract, lease, or other agreement, or any combination thereof, the subject matter of which is the special facility.
