Terms Used In Hawaii Revised Statutes 329-57

  • Department: means the department of law enforcement. See Hawaii Revised Statutes 329-1
  • Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
  • Person: means individual, corporation, government, or governmental subdivision or agency, business trust, estate, trust, partnership or association, or any other legal entity. See Hawaii Revised Statutes 329-1

All final determinations, findings and conclusions of the department of law enforcement under this chapter are final and conclusive decisions of the matters involved. Any person aggrieved by the decision may obtain review of the decision pursuant to chapter 91. Findings of fact by the department of law enforcement, if supported by substantial evidence, are conclusive.
