Terms Used In Hawaii Revised Statutes 334-22

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • Psychiatric facility: means a public or private hospital or part thereof which provides inpatient or outpatient care, custody, diagnosis, treatment or rehabilitation services for mentally ill persons or for persons habituated to the excessive use of drugs or alcohol or for intoxicated persons. Any person who and any association or corporation which establishes, maintains, or operates a psychiatric facility for compensation or hire without holding a valid license issued under this part, and any officer of any association or corporation who participates in the violation, shall be fined not more than $1,000 or, in the case of an individual, imprisoned not more than six months, or both.
