  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.

In any proceeding, the party entitled to recover costs may include in the costs such reasonable sum as was paid to the surety insurer as premium for any bond or undertaking required therein, and as may be allowed by the court having jurisdiction of the proceeding.
