- Damages: Money paid by defendants to successful plaintiffs in civil cases to compensate the plaintiffs for their injuries.
Except in cases of gross negligence, no public officer or employee shall be liable for damages to government property if such damages to government property were caused by the public officer or employee while performing work within the scope of the officer’s or employee’s employment.
