(a) Each newly hired employee shall be provided a general orientation on the employee’s benefits and rights within twenty calendar days of being hired. The orientation shall be conducted by the employee’s respective jurisdiction.

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
(b) The exclusive representative who represents the employee, if any, may attend the employee’s general orientation and present information on the employee’s benefits and rights.
(c) As used in this section, “exclusive representative” has the same meaning as in § 76-11.
