  • Damages: Money paid by defendants to successful plaintiffs in civil cases to compensate the plaintiffs for their injuries.
If the owner of such timber does not, within three months from the time it was so drifted, take the same away, the owner or occupant of the land must deliver a bill of his charges and appraisement of damages, together with the timber, to the sheriff of the county, and thereafter the sheriff must sell the same after three (3) days’ notice posted in three (3) public places of the precinct.
