Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 20 ILCS 1805/10

  • Arrest: Taking physical custody of a person by lawful authority.
  • State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
     The uniforms, arms and equipment of all personnel of the Illinois National Guard shall be exempt from all suits, distresses, executions or sales for debts or payment of taxes. Personnel shall in all cases except treason, felony, or breach of peace, be privileged from arrest and imprisonment by civil authority while under orders in the active service of the State, from the date of the issuing of such orders to the time when such service shall cease.
