  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
     To keep, for each institution under the jurisdiction of the Department, so far as may be practicable, a record of stores and supplies received and issued, with the dates and names of the parties from or to whom the same were received or issued.
