  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
     Prior to a repossession, the licensed repossession agency or repossession agency employee shall notify the appropriate law enforcement agency located in the jurisdiction in which the licensed repossession agency or repossession agency employee plans to perform the repossession. Within 30 minutes after the completion of the repossession, the licensed repossession agency or repossession agency employee must notify the appropriate law enforcement agency that the repossession has occurred within its jurisdiction.
