Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 225 ILCS 460/19

  • Damages: Money paid by defendants to successful plaintiffs in civil cases to compensate the plaintiffs for their injuries.
  • Fiduciary: A trustee, executor, or administrator.
  • Trustee: A person or institution holding and administering property in trust.
     Any trustee or person who without lawful authority intentionally disburses or causes the use of charitable trust funds over which he is a fiduciary to be used for his personal benefit or for his own personal use in an amount in excess of $1,000 within a 3 year period is guilty of a Class 2 felony and is subject to civil punitive damages up to or equal to the amount used and a civil penalty fine of up to $50,000 for each intentional violation.
