  • Advice and consent: Under the Constitution, presidential nominations for executive and judicial posts take effect only when confirmed by the Senate, and international treaties become effective only when the Senate approves them by a two-thirds vote.
     There is hereby created an Illinois Liquor Control Commission consisting of 7 members to be appointed by the Governor with the advice and consent of the Senate, no more than 4 of whom shall be members of the same political party. The Executive Director of the Illinois Liquor Control Commission shall be appointed by the Governor with the advice and consent of the Senate.
