“Long-term debt authorization” means (1) dollar amount of bonds or other evidences of indebtedness which are secured by the full faith and credit of the State or are required to be repaid, directly or indirectly, from tax revenue and which can be sold in support of designated purposes by the State, any department, authority, public corporation or quasi-public corporation of the State, any State college or university, or any other public agency created by the State, not including units of local government or school districts; or
     (2) the dollar amount of bond and other evidences of indebtedness which are not secured by the full faith and credit or tax revenue of the State nor required to be repaid, directly or indirectly, from tax revenue and which can be sold in support of designated purposes by the State, any department, authority, public corporation and quasi-public corporation of the State, the State colleges and universities, and any other public agency created by the State, not including units of local government or school districts.

Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 25 ILCS 65/2

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
  • Units of local government: has the meaning established in Section 1 of Article VII of the Constitution of the State of Illinois of 1970. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.28
