Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 25 ILCS 82/30

  • Joint committee: Committees including membership from both houses of teh legislature. Joint committees are usually established with narrow jurisdictions and normally lack authority to report legislation.
  • State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
     Appearance of State officials and employees in support or opposition of measure. The fact that a housing affordability impact note is prepared for any bill or proposed rule shall not preclude or restrict the appearance before any committee of the General Assembly, or before the Joint Committee on Administrative Rules, of any official or authorized employee of the Illinois Housing Development Authority who desires to be heard in support of or in opposition to the measure.
