Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 30 ILCS 5/1-12
- Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
- Obligation: An order placed, contract awarded, service received, or similar transaction during a given period that will require payments during the same or a future period.
- State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
Post audit or audit. “Post audit” or “audit” means a post facto examination of books, documents, records, and other evidence relating to the obligation, receipt, expenditure or use of public funds of the State, including governmental operations relating to such obligation, receipt, expenditure, or use. A post audit is a financial audit, a compliance audit or other attestation engagement, or a performance audit, as those terms are defined in this Article, or some combination thereof.
