- Annuity: A periodic (usually annual) payment of a fixed sum of money for either the life of the recipient or for a fixed number of years. A series of payments under a contract from an insurance company, a trust company, or an individual. Annuity payments are made at regular intervals over a period of more than one full year.
Any member or former member who receives any age enhancement under Section 14-108.3 of this Code shall be entitled to use such age enhancement under the Retirement Systems Reciprocal Act for the purpose of establishing eligibility for and calculating the amount of a retirement annuity payable under this Article, notwithstanding the provisions of subsection (b) of Section 14-108.3.
