  • Advice and consent: Under the Constitution, presidential nominations for executive and judicial posts take effect only when confirmed by the Senate, and international treaties become effective only when the Senate approves them by a two-thirds vote.
     There is hereby created the Amusement Ride and Attraction Safety Board, hereafter in this Act referred to as the “Board”, to consist of 9 members. One member shall be the Director. Eight members shall be appointed by the Governor with the advice and consent of the Senate. The term of members shall be 4 years. Of the 8 appointed members of the Board, 2 shall be operators of amusement rides or amusement attractions, 1 shall be a registered professional engineer, 1 shall represent the insurance industry, and 4 shall represent the general public. The Board shall advise the Department on carnival, amusement enterprise, and amusement safety matters.
