After the effective date of this Act, computation of vacation time of former State employees re-entering State service shall be determined as though all previous State service which qualified for earning of vacation benefits is continuous with present service.
     For purposes of this Section, “State employee” means an “employee” as that term is defined in Section 2 of the State Salary and Annuity Withholding Act.

  • Annuity: A periodic (usually annual) payment of a fixed sum of money for either the life of the recipient or for a fixed number of years. A series of payments under a contract from an insurance company, a trust company, or an individual. Annuity payments are made at regular intervals over a period of more than one full year.
  • State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
