Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 65 ILCS 5/1-9-2

  • Amendment: A proposal to alter the text of a pending bill or other measure by striking out some of it, by inserting new language, or both. Before an amendment becomes part of the measure, thelegislature must agree to it.
  • Obligation: An order placed, contract awarded, service received, or similar transaction during a given period that will require payments during the same or a future period.
     The repeal of the acts or parts thereof specified in Section 1-9-8 shall not (1) affect suits pending or rights existing immediately prior to the effective date of this Code; (2) impair, avoid, or affect any grant or conveyance made or right acquired or cause of action now existing under any such repealed act or amendment thereto; or (3) affect or impair the validity of any bond or other obligation issued or sold and constituting a valid obligation of the issuing authority immediately prior to the effective date of this Code. The repeal of any validating act or part thereof shall not avoid the effect of the validation. No act repealed by Section 1-9-8 shall repeal any act or part thereof which embraces the same or a similar subject matter as the act repealed.
