  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
     There is created a political subdivision, body politic and municipal corporation by the name of the Illinois International Port District embracing all the area within the corporate limits of the City of Chicago. The District may sue and be sued in its corporate name but execution shall not in any case issue against any property of the District. It may adopt a common seal and change the same at pleasure. The principal office of the District shall be in the city of Chicago.
