Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 735 ILCS 35/4

  • Clerk of court: An officer appointed by the court to work with the chief judge in overseeing the court's administration, especially to assist in managing the flow of cases through the court and to maintain court records.
  • Subpoena: A command to a witness to appear and give testimony.
     A subpoena issued by a clerk of court under Section 3 must be served in compliance with Illinois Supreme Court Rules 204 and 237 and Section 2-1101 of the Code of Civil Procedure.
