Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 775 ILCS 20/2

  • Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • United States: may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
     Every person, firm, association or corporation and the subcontractor, agent, or employee of the same to whom has been awarded a contract and to whom shall be awarded a contract by the United States government or any agency thereof and every person, firm, association or corporation which has been authorized or directed or is engaged in the training of persons for skilled or semi-skilled positions of labor for the United States government or any agency thereof and every subcontractor of any such person, firm, association, or corporation is designated in this act a war defense contractor.
