Upon the issuance of the certificate of incorporation by the Director, the corporate existence of the development credit corporation begins. The certificate of incorporation is conclusive except as against the State, that all conditions precedent have been complied with and that the corporation has been incorporated under this Act.
     A copy of the articles of incorporation, indorsed by the Director, shall be filed for recordation in the office of the recorder in the county in which the principal office of the development credit corporation is located.

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • Precedent: A court decision in an earlier case with facts and law similar to a dispute currently before a court. Precedent will ordinarily govern the decision of a later similar case, unless a party can show that it was wrongly decided or that it differed in some significant way.
  • State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
