Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 805 ILCS 35/5

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
     Any 3 or more qualified natural persons, all of whom shall be bona fide residents of this State, who desire to associate themselves for the purpose of establishing and operating a development credit corporation may subscribe, acknowledge and file with the Director for approval articles of incorporation as set out in Section 11.
