Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 815 ILCS 375/22

  • Finance charge: The total cost of credit a customer must pay on a consumer loan, including interest. The Truth in Lending Act requires disclosure of the finance charge. Source: OCC
  • State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
     No retail seller whose sales are regulated under this Act may advertise to the public on price tags, on signs, in public media, or in any other manner that indicates or implies that the finance charge, finance or interest rates he charges are in any way “recommended”, “approved”, or “set” by the State government or by this Act.
