  • Damages: Money paid by defendants to successful plaintiffs in civil cases to compensate the plaintiffs for their injuries.
  • State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
     Violation of any of the provisions of this Act is an unlawful practice pursuant to Section 2 of the Deceptive Business Practices Act, as now or hereafter amended. All remedies, penalties and authority granted to the Attorney General or a State‘s Attorney by that Act shall be available to them for the enforcement of this Act. In any action brought by the Attorney General or a State’s Attorney to enforce this Act, the court may order that persons who incurred actual damages be awarded the amount of actual damages assessed.
