Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 815 ILCS 705/24

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
  • Trustee: A person or institution holding and administering property in trust.
     In lieu of any penalty provided pursuant to Section 25 of this Act, and in addition to an action pursuant to subsection (b) of Section 22 of this Act, the Administrator may bring an action in the name and on behalf of the people of the State against any person, trustee, manager or other officer or agent of a corporation, or against a corporation, domestic or foreign, to recover a penalty in a sum not to exceed $50,000 per violation for the doing in this State of any act herein declared illegal. The action must be brought within 3 years after the commission of the act upon which it is based.
