  • Advice and consent: Under the Constitution, presidential nominations for executive and judicial posts take effect only when confirmed by the Senate, and international treaties become effective only when the Senate approves them by a two-thirds vote.
  • comprehensive unified local transportation system: as used in this Article means a transportation system comprising all of the street railways and also all of the local railroads the major portions of which are within the city (provided there are such local railroads in such city) and may also comprise public utility motor vehicle lines and/or any other local public utility transportation facilities, the major portions of which are within the city.   • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
