Terms Used In Indiana Code 16-42-1-22

  • Trial: A hearing that takes place when the defendant pleads "not guilty" and witnesses are required to come to court to give evidence.
  • Venue: The geographical location in which a case is tried.
   Sec. 22. The right of change of venue from the county, the right of change of judge, and the right of trial by jury are the same as in civil cases.
