- Amendment: A proposal to alter the text of a pending bill or other measure by striking out some of it, by inserting new language, or both. Before an amendment becomes part of the measure, thelegislature must agree to it.
- Department: means "the department of insurance" of this state. See Indiana Code 27-1-2-3
Sec. 6. The department is hereby authorized to approve or disapprove such articles of amendment, and the approval of them, if given, shall be evidenced in the manner prescribed in IC 27-1-6-8.
