Terms Used In Indiana Code 27-8-24.7-5

  • health insurance policy: means any individual or group accident and sickness policy, contract, subscriber agreement, rider, endorsement, or any contract providing for the delivery of health care benefits, delivered or issued for delivery in Indiana after June 30, 1996, by any of the following:

  • insured: means an individual who is entitled to the benefits provided by a health insurance policy. See Indiana Code 27-8-24.7-3
   Sec. 5. Under a health insurance policy that is issued, delivered, issued for delivery, or renewed in Indiana, an organization or arrangement described in section 1(1) through 1(5) of this chapter may not refuse to designate a women’s health care provider as an insured‘s primary care provider if the women’s health care provider meets the terms and conditions for participation established by an organization or arrangement described in section 1(1) through 1(5) of this chapter under an insurance policy as a primary care physician solely because the individual physician specializes in the provision of obstetric or gynecological services.
