Terms Used In Indiana Code 35-33-1-2

  • Arrest: Taking physical custody of a person by lawful authority.
  • Probable cause: A reasonable ground for belief that the offender violated a specific law.
   Sec. 2. A judge may arrest, or order the arrest of a person in his presence, when he has probable cause to believe the person has committed a crime.
