Terms Used In Iowa Code 461B.14
- Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
- Motorboat: means any vessel propelled by an inboard, inboard-outdrive, or outboard engine, whether or not such engine is the principal source of propulsion. See Iowa Code 462A.2
- Nonresident: means every person who is not a resident of this state. See Iowa Code 462A.2
- Operator: means a person who operates or is in actual physical control of a vessel. See Iowa Code 462A.2
Any contract insuring the liability of a nonresident operator of a motorboat in Iowa shall, in case of the death of said nonresident, be considered an asset of the nonresident’s estate having a situs in Iowa in any civil action arising out of an accident in which said nonresident may be liable.
