Terms Used In Iowa Code 483A.17
- License: means a privilege granted by the commission to fish, hunt, fur harvest, pursue, catch, kill, take in any manner, use, have possession of, sell, or transport all or part of a wild animal, bird, game, or fish, including any privilege related to a license granted by issuance of a stamp or a payment of a fee. See Iowa Code 483A.1A
- Resident: means a natural person who meets any of the following criteria during each year in which the person claims status as a resident:a. See Iowa Code 483A.1A
- year: means twelve consecutive months. See Iowa Code 4.1
Every license, except as otherwise provided in this chapter, is valid from the date issued to January 10 of the succeeding calendar year for which it is issued. A license shall not be issued prior to December 15 for the subsequent calendar year except for a multi-year fishing license or a multi-year hunting license issued to a resident pursuant to rules adopted pursuant to section 483A.1.
