Terms Used In Iowa Code 524.1804

  • Bank: means a corporation organized under this chapter, a national bank, a federal savings association, or an out-of-state bank. See Iowa Code 524.103
  • Board: means the engineering and land surveying examining board provided by this chapter. See Iowa Code 542B.2
  • Control: means when a person, directly or indirectly or acting through or together with one or more persons, satisfies any of the following:
  • State bank: means any bank incorporated pursuant to the provisions of this chapter after January 1, 1970, and any "state bank" incorporated pursuant to the laws of this state and doing business as such on January 1, 1970, or a bank organized as a mutual corporation under this chapter. See Iowa Code 524.103
  • Superintendent: means the superintendent of banking of this state. See Iowa Code 524.103
 A bank holding company which proposes to directly or indirectly acquire control of, or directly or indirectly acquire all or substantially all of the assets of, a state bank or national bank, shall provide to the superintendent a copy of the application and any modifications or amendments to the application submitted to the federal reserve board for permission to take such action at the same time the application is transmitted to the federal reserve board. The superintendent may conduct such investigation into and evaluation of the proposed action as the superintendent deems necessary and appropriate, and may submit to the federal reserve board any information so obtained together with the superintendent’s own comments or recommendations regarding the proposed acquisition.
