1. Each director of a state bank, before acting as a director, shall take an oath that the director will diligently, faithfully, and impartially perform the duties imposed upon the director by law, that the director will not knowingly violate or willingly permit a violation of any of the provisions of this chapter, and that the director meets the eligibility requirements of this chapter.

Terms Used In Iowa Code 524.611

  • Bank: means a corporation organized under this chapter, a national bank, a federal savings association, or an out-of-state bank. See Iowa Code 524.103
  • Director: means a member of the board of directors of a state bank. See Iowa Code 524.103
  • oath: includes affirmation in all cases where an affirmation may be substituted for an oath, and in like cases the word "swear" includes "affirm". See Iowa Code 4.1
  • Oath: A promise to tell the truth.
  • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories, and the words "United States" may include the said district and territories. See Iowa Code 4.1
  • Superintendent: means the superintendent of banking of this state. See Iowa Code 524.103
 2. The oath shall be signed by the director, acknowledged before an individual authorized to perform notarial acts, and delivered to the superintendent.
