Terms Used In Iowa Code 633.567
- Adult: means an individual who is eighteen years of age or older. See Iowa Code 633.701
- Conservator: means a person appointed by the court to have the custody and control of the property of an adult under the provisions of this chapter. See Iowa Code 633.701
- Minor: means a person who is not of full age. See Iowa Code 633.3
Any adult with an interest in the welfare of a minor who is at least seventeen years and six months of age may file a verified petition pursuant to section 633.552 or section 633.553 to initiate a proceeding to appoint a guardian or conservator for the minor to take effect on the minor’s eighteenth birthday.
