Terms Used In Iowa Code 88B.8

• Asbestos project: includes the preparation of the project site and all activities through the transportation of the asbestos-containing materials off the premises. See Iowa Code 88B.1
• Commissioner: means the labor commissioner or the commissioner's designee. See Iowa Code 88B.1
• Division: means the division of labor services of the department of workforce development created under section 84A. See Iowa Code 88B.1
• following: when used by way of reference to a chapter or other part of a statute mean the next preceding or next following chapter or other part. See Iowa Code 4.1
• License: means an authorization issued by the division permitting an individual person, including a supervisor or contractor, to work on an asbestos project, to inspect buildings for asbestos-containing building materials, to develop management plans, and to act as an asbestos project designer. See Iowa Code 88B.1
• Permit: means an authorization issued by the division permitting a business entity to remove or encapsulate asbestos. See Iowa Code 88B.1
• person: means individual, corporation, limited liability company, government or governmental subdivision or agency, business trust, estate, trust, partnership or association, or any other legal entity. See Iowa Code 4.1
• Rule: includes "regulation". See Iowa Code 4.1
• state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories, and the words "United States" may include the said district and territories. See Iowa Code 4.1
