Terms Used In Kansas Statutes 12-1756

  • Cost: means : (1) Expenditures made for construction, engineering, architectural, technical and legal services, reports, property valuations, estimates, plans, specifications, notices, acquisition of real and personal property, consequential damages, easements, rights-of-way, supervision, inspection, testing, publications, printing and sale of bonds, interest on temporary notes, and provisions for land use planning, administrative expense and contingencies of the district; (2) maintenance expenses of improvements as defined in subsection (c) or (d); and (3) service as defined in subsection (e).   • Enforcing officer: means the building inspector or other officer designated by ordinance and charged with the administration of the provisions of this act. See Kansas Statutes 12-1750
  • Property: includes personal and real property. See Kansas Statutes 77-201
  • Structure: means any building, wall or other structure. See Kansas Statutes 12-1750

When in the opinion of the enforcing officer, any structure is in such condition as to constitute an immediate hazard requiring immediate action to protect the public, such officer may erect barricades or cause the property to be vacated, taken down, repaired, shored or otherwise made safe without delay and such action may, under such circumstances, be taken without prior notice to or hearing of the owners, agents, lienholders and occupants. The cost of any such action shall be assessed against the property and paid in the manner provided by Kan. Stat. Ann. § 12-1755.
