Terms Used In Kansas Statutes 17-76,129

  • Foreign limited liability company: means a limited liability company formed under the laws of any state or under the laws of any foreign country or other foreign jurisdiction. See Kansas Statutes 17-7663
  • Person: means a natural person, partnership, whether general or limited, limited liability company, trust, including a common law trust, business trust, statutory trust, voting trust or any other form of trust, estate, association, including any group, organization, co-tenancy, plan, board, council or committee, corporation, government, including a country, state, county or any other governmental subdivision, agency or instrumentality, custodian, nominee or any other individual or entity, or series thereof, in its own or any representative capacity, in each case, whether domestic or foreign.   • State: means the District of Columbia or the commonwealth of Puerto Rico or any state, territory, possession or other jurisdiction of the United States other than the state of Kansas. See Kansas Statutes 17-7663
  • Venue: The geographical location in which a case is tried.

Service of process in any action against any foreign limited liability company, whether or not that limited liability company is qualified to do business in this state, shall be made in the manner prescribed by Kan. Stat. Ann. § 60-304, and amendments thereto. Any person who has a cause of action against any foreign limited liability company, whether or not the limited liability company is qualified to do business in this state may file suit against the limited liability company in the district court of a county in which there is proper venue if the cause of action arose in Kansas out of the limited liability company’s doing business in Kansas or while the limited liability company was doing business in Kansas.
