Terms Used In Kansas Statutes 19-3546

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • District: means the water supply district organized pursuant to this act; "board" means the board of county commissioners of Johnson county; "general manager" means the general manager of the water supply district appointed by the board as provided in this act; "county" means Johnson county, Kansas. See Kansas Statutes 19-3522
  • State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Kansas Statutes 77-201

For the purposes of Kan. Stat. Ann. §§ 19-3545 to 19-3556, inclusive, and amendments thereto: (a) “Public agency” shall mean: (1) Any county, township, city, town, water district or other municipal corporation, quasi-municipal corporation or political subdivision of this state or any state adjacent to this state; or (2) any agency or instrumentality of this state or any state adjacent to this state; or (3) any agency or instrumentality of the United States.

(b) “District” shall mean any public wholesale water supply district organized pursuant to the provisions of Kan. Stat. Ann. § 19-3545 et seq., and amendments thereto.
